I’m a fully credentialed high school English teacher, editor, copywriter, and sportswriter – I’m a man of many hats, as it were. The common thread between all of these, of course, is writing – I’m a firm believe that the being able to be understood clearly in writing is the most important skill you can learn in school nowadays, and it’s our job here at Wordsmith Essays to help you get to a point where the strength of your ideas comes out through your writing.
I have a BA in English from the University of California at Davis. After spending a few years teaching English as a second language in Uchinada, Ishikawa, Japan, I returned to the United States and received my teaching credential and post-secondary education at San Jose State University. I have 5 years of editing experience.
I’ve taken a shine to helping students who have English as a second language or who are otherwise struggling with their English communication – there’s nothing quite like the look on a student’s face when they finally get across what they’ve been trying to say. I’ve been in that situation, as well, when I was trying to force my poor Japanese or German to communicate overseas, and I know how frustrating it can be to be held back by your language skills. You can count on me giving every effort to help shape your essays into something you can be proud of.
