I pursued a BA in Languages, a Masters degree in Applied Linguistics and an MPhil in Second Language Studies in which I focused on how people acquire second languages. I also enjoy creating educational material, which is why I’m pursuing an Ed.D in Curriculum Development and Assessment.

Language has always been a passion of mine! I love learning new languages and enjoy analyzing the quirks of languages. It is only natural that I became an English teacher, editor and writer.

I pursued a BA in Languages, a Masters degree in Applied Linguistics and an MPhil in Second Language Studies in which I focused on how people acquire second languages. I also enjoy creating educational material, which is why I’m pursuing an Ed.D in Curriculum Development and Assessment.

After teaching high school English in South Africa for 1.5 years, running a university writing center for three years, and lecturing reading and academic writing courses at a university for four years, I decided to head to South Korea. I now work full-time training English teachers while continuing to write and do editing work in my free time.

I have over 12 years experience editing academic writing from high school essays to post-doctoral texts and textbooks and specialize in teaching writing. I have also written a textbook on learning to write well in academia and am working on the next one. I am an editor for the KSAT as well as an educational publisher and a school that prepares students for TOEIC, TOEFL and IELTS exams. I also regularly edit manuscripts for novels, non-fiction books, websites and more as a freelancer. Rest assured that I have extensive editing experience and that your writing is in expert and experienced hands.

Remember that writing is a process and a skill that has to be developed. I like to help writers to become better writers – not just to hand in a better essay for one class. No one produces perfect writing without making changes to the original draft (sometimes several)– not even the greatest writers in history – so don’t hesitate to ask for help in your own writing.
